Day I: Hello from Kazakhstan! It is really snowy here. I ate some snow off of trees and it was very good. It is very cold. There are a lot of tall buildings and a lot of Christmas lights on the streets. It is very pretty. We stayed in a nice hotel room last night. The one we are in tonight is even bigger! I like the ceilings and the boxes in the walls.
Day 2: Today we went to the boarding school to find a sister. We met a girl named Luba. She is very nice, sweet and soft looking. She was shy at first, but once she got used to us, she was a lot of fun. We worked a puzzle that didn't have all the pieces to it, but it was fun doing it with her.
Day 3: Next day, we went back to the boarding school to meet the same girl named Luba. This time she was less shy and had more fun with us. First, she braided my hair, although it hurt a little bit, it was very pretty. Next, we colored and played with stencils. I went with her to eat a snack. We had a roll, some tea and cookies. It was very good.
Day 4: We went outside, it was very cold, snowy and slippery. Luba decided to take me dodwn the ice slide. It was a lot of un and she enjoyed doing it too. She wanted me to go down the slide with her, over and over and over. My bottom started to get really cold. She wanted to keep going. My parents decided that I should go only one more time because my pants were so wet. Then we went back inside to dry out.
Luba showed me her knitting. It was very cool. I don't think I would be able to do it. She had to go to her snack time, but she came right back and grought me a bag of cheese puffs. They were very good. |

Day 5: Today we to a classroom for our visit. I brought some Polly Pockets with me and we had fun playing with them. Next, we started coloring in a coloring book. She was very careful not to get outside of the lines. We played with Play Doh and smashed the marker tops into the dough. It was fun! The clay got stuck, so we had to wash them out with water. It was time for her to go to snack. She asked me to go to snack with her. We had bread with a yogurt drink. It was very good. It was time for us to go, and she bundled me up very good. The end.
Day 6: We went into the Sensory Room and she turned on all kinds of lights, colored, flashing and disco lights. Then we started building a fort out of foam building blocks. It was a big fort. When we both went into it and hung out for awhile, it then broke. We then went into the dry swimming pool and it caught my hair and I had a hard time getting out. Next, we got on the exercise equipment. She tried the bike and it was too hard for her, then she stood up and was able to do it. I did the treadmill. It was very small. We ended the day by doing each other's hair.
Day 7: Today we went to the library for our visit, it had a lot of books in it. We started out by playing with a Pirates of the Caribbean sticker book. She liked Will Turner and I pointed out that I liked Captain Jack Sparrow. She decided she liked him too. Next, we did a Sponge Bob wet coloring book. She thought that it was really cool. She was first worried that the water would make a mess, but then she figured and started coloring really fast. We tried to weave key chains but remember the pattern, so we ended up by doing some braids. We ended the day by making jewelry out of magnets.
Day 8: Today we had our visit in one of the classrooms at the boarding school. We started out by doing paper dolls. She made two, I made four and Mom made two, too! Then we ended up by drawing on the chalkboard. She drew a house and I worked on the alphabet. It was fun until she stole my chalk. Then I got another piece a chalk and started writing my name. When we were getting ready to leave, she decided to put on my coat, gloves and hat. I ended up with no clothes and said good-bye like she was leaving. She took the clothes off and we both laughed. She saw a heart sticker on my shirt and put in on my foreheard. I saw one on her shirt and put it on her forehead really fast. We both laughed. Then she started to put the coat, gloves and hat on me...and she said "oy!" (which she says all the time, along with "ok!") We ended the day with her saying good-bye. The end.

Day 9: Today we went to the library. First, we played with the Polly Pockets. Luba is really fascinated by the magnet clothes. Next, we played with the Leapster. She thought that was really fun and played with it for a long time, while I played with magnets. We didn't make it to snack today, but went to say good-bye instead.
Day 10: When we first got to the group room, Luba hung up our coats and we sat down for a minute. Then, she got up and gave me a balloon and we started playing with it. When we finished playing with the balloon, I gave her a stuffed pig with a heart on it that says "I Love You". She then gave me the balloon as a gift. Next, we went to the library where we first colored door hangers. Then, we made necklaces and bracelets out of beads. She had a lot of fun with them and I did too. My Mom made a bracelet too. Then, it was the end of our visit. She bundled me up. I put my gloves on myself, but she wanted to take them off and put them on me herself. She put my hat on, zipped up my coat and gave me a big hug good-bye. The end.
Day 11: Today we went to the outside market. I thought it was really cool, with lots of neat stuff. They even had some Pirates of the Carribean stickers, but my Dad wouldn't let me get any. He says I have enough POC stuff. :) (typist) Luda and I played in the snow during our visit. It was fun, but it was cold. We climbed mounds of snow and slid down them. The end.
Day 12: Today we walked around town. We are kind of bored and have nothing to do. I read my book and played with a balloon.
Day 13: Today was bath day for Luba. She had to go with another group because we were visiting. First, we played the Concentration game with cards. Next, we played with dolls and then we drew pictures. She drew a heart and I drew people. We had fun. Then it was time for her to get a bath so we left. The end.
Day 14: We started out by playing Barbies for a very long time. I think she likes them. We braided and did other hairdos with their hair. It was fun. Then Dinara told us that Luba (Lily) was looking for us after her bath yesterday. When she didn't find us, she started to cry. It made me realize just how much she cares and how much she wants a family. The end.
Day 15: We started our visit by batting a blue balloon around one of the classrooms. We played it for a pretty long time. She had fun. Then we started to play fasion show. First, she dressed me up by putting my Mom's scarf around head, which was mostly around my eyes. And then she put the balloon that we played with under my shirt. We showed Mom & Dad and we all laughed. We decided to do another one, where I dressed her up. We showed our parents again and it was really funny. Next, we decided to dress ourselves up as street boys. She wore my Dad's shirt with the balloon under it, and I wore my Mom's jacket with my blue hat and acted like a rapper. We giggled a lot. It was really fun. The end. |
